There's no added fragrance and no water listed — the snail filtrate is the base.
DermFND, an independent ingredient-analysis site that says it takes no samples, sponsorships or affiliate revenue, describes snail secretion filtrate as a natural complex containing glycoproteins, glycosaminoglycans, small amounts of hyaluronic acid and glycolic acid, allantoin and peptides. It scores the product 85/100 and rates its irritation risk as low.
What reviewers consistently praised
Hydration and bounce. Soko Glam founder Charlotte Cho reported that after two weeks her skin felt "elastic and soft," and K Beauty Hobbit, who has combination skin with occasional redness, described "wonderful plumping and soothing effects." WWD's Claire Sullivan, who used it for a full year, reported reduced redness and subtle fine-line smoothing that took six weeks or more to appear.
Layering. Testers say it sits well under moisturizer, sunscreen and makeup. K Beauty Hobbit notes it can dry slightly sticky on its own but leaves no stickiness once moisturizer goes on top; DermFND says the tacky phase lasts about 30 to 60 seconds and is shorter on damp skin.
A short, gentle formula. Reviewers who care about sensitivity point to the fragrance-free, minimal ingredient list. Cho recommends it for all skin types, and DermFND rates it suitable for dry, normal and sensitive skin and workable for oily and combination skin.

A minority of delayed breakouts. This is the complaint worth taking seriously. In the Amazon reviews we read, a meaningful subset of one-star reviews describe bumps, breakouts or a feeling of barrier irritation appearing one to three weeks after starting — not immediately. DermFND's analysis classifies the formula as non-comedogenic and attributes many such reports to other products or skin cycles, but the pattern is consistent enough that acne-prone or reactive skin should patch-test and introduce it alone.
Dust-mite allergy. DermFND flags possible cross-reactivity between snail proteins and dust-mite allergens and recommends a 48-hour patch test on the inner arm if you have a confirmed dust-mite allergy.
Texture. The stringy, slippery feel is the most common reason people give up early. Apply to damp skin and pat rather than rub.
Not vegan, and limited on its own. The hero ingredient is animal-derived. COSRX says its snails aren't harmed, but DermFND notes independent verification is limited.
